So long and thanks for the fish...

Journal Entry: Wed Jun 8, 2016, 4:18 PM
I will not be accepting any more commissions for the foreseeable future. That's not to say I never will again, I just don't know when I'll be able to reopen my queue.

I had intended to continue doing a few commissions here and there, assuming my husband and my business would have a slow start. Turns out, we're p-much working full 40+ hour weeks now give or take. I hadn't expected that for at least 6 months (in fact that was the timeline every working professional in the field I've spoken to had told me)... but things have sort of blown up in the last week and a half and we're suddenly doing really well. So I guess we're getting a little bit back in return for all the life bullshit we've faced the past few years!

To my current commissioners: I still owe many of you updates and responses. I apologize sincerely for not being more accessible and will be attempting to "make it right" with each of you individually. Please be patient with me. I know I ask it a lot and I apologize for that too.

I also just really want to thank everyone who's supported me as an artist over the past few years. Many of you have been commissioning me since I first started contracting and it was with your patronage that I've grown into the artist I am today as well as have been able to help support my family. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Even typing this I feel myself starting to tear up a little, so I'll wrap it up.

I'm still going to draw, but the focus of my life has changed to where instead of that being my priority it needs to become my hobby for the betterment of my family's future.

So one last time, thank you all so much for your endless support, patience and encouragement. I wouldn't have survived the past few years without you.

VtM - Nosferatu Idea - Willa
When I hit walls on commissions, I tend to "break my brain" by working on something different for a little while. In this case I've managed to finish up my Nosferatu concept. She's changed a lot since the original sketch, but I'm pretty happy with my little lizard face as she is now. Team Bossferatu, ftw!

Also, if you're interested in roleplaying some old school VtM online go here, join up and take a look around the forums!: masqueradeembraced.enjin.com/

P.S. Yes, she's often woefully mistaken for a Tzimisce. >>

SWtoR - Commission - Molari
Molari the Firrerreo! I think Jateshi 's character is so dashing! Also a big ol' thank you to Jateshi for her ultimate patience on this piece! You're great! I ADORE YOU! <3

EDIT: Forgot to add, I used some reference on this one from another artist. Namely an old Nebezial sketch since the expression and look was close to perfect on what I was looking to accomplish with Molari. Plus Neb is one of my greatest art inspirations just in general and if not for his work, my expression work would not be where it is today (nor coloring, nor sketch speed, nor... the list could go on). Just wanted to make sure I gave credit where credit is due!

I'm a typical contract artist at this point in my life. I worked in the video game industry for about eight years and now I'm a mommy too!

I was hoping you can do me this favor. Could you read this journal fav.me/d8wnqf3 and support my friend by giving him and his artwork more feedback. He longs for advice and would like small critiques on his drawings. Him and I truly appreciate it if you do.

Look you don’t have to if you don’t want to, this isn’t a spam message as some people believe it would be its just me trying to be a nice person. Than you for your time^^ I hope I didn’t waste it^^’’

will do! I took a look and followed him, but make sure to let him know that if he wants critique to use the critique option in his deviation submissions. :D

Thank you so much, that's very sweet! BUT, a great artist once said to me when I had said that same thing to him, "No, you don't want to draw like me. You're going to be better than me. Just keep practicing." Those words stuck with me and I hope they help you out like they did me when I was a young artist. :D
